Ecostick 5020 is a strong, water-based, contact adhesive designed for permanent bonding and applications where solvent based cement is traditionally used. 5020 has a low tack behavior that allows for adjusting the materials before final assembly. It remains workable for up to four hours before setting, ensuring precise positioning. Initial bonding strength is very secure with high resistance to temperatures.
While it forms a permanent bond, for leathers with high grease content, stitching is recommended for added durability.
Application Instructions
- Apply ECOSTICK 5020 on both surfaces and let it dry.
- Adhesive will turn from white to clear when dry and ready.
- Join both sides within 4 hours after drying and press firmly.
- If the time exceeds 4 hours, reactivate by heating at 140-158°F (60-70°C) before coupling and pressing.
- While 5020 forms a permanent bond, it is best suited for applications that will be stitched for added durability.
Open Time:
- Cold bonding - up to 4 hours after the adhesive is dried. Reactivation by heating - within 48 hours.
